Worship of Saligram
The worship of Salagram Sila, a sacred stone representing Lord Vishnu, is a profound and spiritually enriching practice. - Wash the Salagram Sila thoroughly with clean water to purify it.
- Set Up the Altar:
- Place the Salagram on a base made of cloth or a plate.
- Position it on your altar or a respected place dedicated to worship.
- Gather the Following Items:
- Panchagavya: A mixture of cow's dung, urine, milk, ghee, and curd.
- Water with Kusha Grass: For sprinkling during the ritual, along with a spoon.
- Leaves of Peepal Tree: Arrange nine leaves on a plate.
- Offering Plate: For placing offerings during the puja.
- Dhoop and Incense Sticks: To create a fragrant and serene atmosphere.
- Camphor and Lamp: For lighting during the ritual.
- Sandal Paste: To apply on the Salagram.
- Rice Grains with Ashtagandha: For ritualistic purposes.
- Ghee Lamp (one wick): To light during the worship.
- Offerings: Include cloth, flowers, fruits, betel nut (paan), and a coconut.
- Performing the Worship:
- Sit on an asan (seat) facing the Salagram.
- Offer the gathered items one by one to the Salagram.
- Light the incense and ghee lamp, and ring the bell to commence the ritual.
- Chant the following mantra nine times while offering the items:
" Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya "
